About

My name is Kristin Backhaus and I am currently a Biocommunication Photography major at Randolph Community College in Asheboro, NC.  While I may be studying for the medical and forensic fields, my true passion is nature and travel photography.  I shoot both digital and film, with film being 35mm, medium format, and some large format.   My cameras of choice are a Nikon D300, a Nikon N80, and a Mamiya 645 AFD, but occasionaly I will experiment with cameras that I have collected and fixed for use.  With my cameras, I have won a few competitions, including silver keys at the Scholastic Art and Writing competition and 1st place in the youth category in the 2009 RCC Photo Contest.
